The Great Ocean Road

Haven’t posted anything in a while… Not that I haven’t been shooting, but it was mostly portraits and political stuff. But then I got a week off and finally escaped into nature — this time to the Great Ocean Road.

Technically, the road links Melbourne and Adelaide, and it was built in the 1920s–30s by WWI veterans. It runs along the ocean coast, which is honestly one of the most stunning in the world. These days it’s not really important for transport, but it’s a huge hit with tourists.

Since I went in winter, it was totally off-season. Apart from a couple of buses full of Chinese tourists, I pretty much had the whole road to myself! The winter landscapes might not be as colourful as in summer, but they’ve definitely got more drama. Anyway, here it is:

Великая Океанская Дорога

 Давно ничего не отправлял... Не то что не снимал, но оно там были всякие портреты и политика. Но вот выдалась неделя каникул, и я выбрался на природу. А именно, на Великую Океанскую Дорогу (the Great Ocean Road). 

Дорога эта, по идее, соединяет Мельбурн с Аделаидой, и была построена в 20х-30х годах ветеранами Первой Мировой. Проложена она вдоль океанского берега, а берег этот является одним из красивейших в мире. Транспортного значения дорога уже не имеет, зато имеет большое туристическое.

Т.к. я поехал зимой, это был совершенно не сезон. Если не обращать внимания на несколько автобусов с китайскими туристами, дорога была вся моя! Зимние пейзажи не так красочны как летом, но более драматичны. Короче, вот оно:
