One’s small and modest — a little waterfall up in Murrindindi, about an hour and a half drive from Melbourne:

...And the second one’s the opposite — big and packed with variety. I went on a short two-day road trip, about 700 km all up. Kicked things off with an incredible mountain drive I’d been dreaming about for a while: the road over Mt Skene, which sits 1,530 metres above sea level. The track’s cut into the rock, and there was no way to go over 30 km/h. Honestly, don’t even try it without AWD. The views were unreal — though photos barely do them justice.
Spent the night at a resort (that’s where the night shots are from). After that brutal drive, a soak in the pool and a sit in the steam room felt absolutely perfect.
Next day was all about sightseeing — around Lake Eildon (kind of like Australia’s version of Lake Seliger). A garden, an old railway tunnel, and a waterfall to wrap it all up.

P.S. And as a bit of an epilogue — here’s something that’s not mine, but definitely worth your attention: the documentary Battleground Melbourne. It’s about the last two years of lockdowns, authoritarianism, and the protests in Melbourne. It was crowdfunded by everyday people. I joined the protests myself and donated to help make the film. I can say honestly — it tells the truth.
Honestly, the whole world should see this film — as a warning about rising authoritarianism.

...А второй наоборот, большой и разнообразный. Я отправился в небольшое путешествие на 2 дня, километров на 700. Для начала, проехал по шикарной горной дороге, о которой я уже давно мечтал. Дорога через перевал Mt Skene 1530м над уровнем моря. Дорога вырублена в скале, ехать быстрее 30 км/ч никак не получалось, и без полноприводной машины делать там вообще нечего. Виды были шикарные, фото передают лишь бледное подобие.
Потом переночевал в резорте (оттуда ночные фото). Бассейн и парилка были очень душевны после зубодробительной дороги!
На следующий день - по достопримечательностям. Кстати, в окрестностях озера Эйлдон (австралийского Селигера). Сад, старый железнодорожный туннель и водопад на закуску.
P.S. А в качестве послесловия кое-что, что совершенно не мое, но заслуживающее внимания. Документальный фильм Battleground Melbourne. Это о последних двух годах карантина, тоталитаризме и протестах в Мельбурне. Фильм снят на пожертвования простых людей. Я сам ходил на протесты и тоже жертвовал деньги на этот фильм. Подтверждаю - там все правда. Врядли будете смотреть на английском, но если есть англоязычные друзья - поделитесь. По-хорошему, весь мир должен увидеть этот фильм. Как предупреждение о наступающем фашизме.
