A foggy morning and a sunny afternoon.

Haven’t sent out an update in a while — guilty as charged. But there’s a good reason for it: work. Been flat out with it, and turns out work figured out I can take a decent photo too.

So now they’ve started dragging me along to all sorts of corporate events as the official uni photographer. Basically, I take better shots than the pros (who you’ve gotta pay), and since I’m already on the payroll, they get me for free. Not that I mind — I enjoy it, and the bosses throw a few perks my way too.

Anyway, this week I managed to sneak off into nature with my camera and drone. Headed to my favourite spot — South Gippsland, up in the hills near the farms. There’s this beaut little mountain covered in forest called Mt Worth. The views from up there are something else, and there are waterfalls all over the place. I hit the road early and made my way up a windy dirt track. The morning was your classic cloudy and foggy one, but I didn’t let that bother me. Pulled out the camera and drone — good pics don’t have to be sunny.

Drove a bit further and stopped at a roadside waterfall (and had some lunch in the bush). Took a few snaps — you’ll see them below.

Then I cruised down the mountain and made my way to a spot I found on Google Maps with views over some small local reservoirs. They’re called the Leongatha reservoirs, since they supply water to the nearby town of the same name. By then the sun had come out, so the pics and video from there are a bit more cheerful.

Мутное утро и солнечный полдень

Давно не было рассылок. Каюсь, чистая правда. Но на то есть уважительная причина - работа. И работу работал, и работа осознала, что я умею фотографировать.

Меня стали вытаскивать на всякие корпоративные мероприятия как официального фотографа от нашего универа. Т.е. снимаю я лучше профессиональных фотографов, которым надо платить. А мне платить не надо, т.к. я и так на зарплате. Ну да мне самому интересно, и от начальства плюшки перепадают.

Тем не менее, на этой неделе я выехал на природу с камерой и дроном. Поехал я в любимый Южный Гиппсланд, на холмы к фермерам. Там есть замечательная горка, поросшая лесом. Называется Маунт Уорт (Mt Worth). С нее открываются живописные виды, а на самой горке многочисленные водопады. На горку я заехал еще утром по извилистой грунтовой дороге. Утро, как у нас обычно бывает, было мутное и облачное. Горевать я на эту тему не стал, а вытащил камеру и дрон. Проехал дальше, до придорожного водопада (и обеда на природе). Фотографии прилагаются ниже. 

А затем, съехав с горы, прибыл на обнаруженное на гугловских картах место с видами на маленькие местные водохранилища. Они называются Leongatha reservoirs, потому что снабжают водой близлежащий город Леонгата. На тот момент уже вышло солнце, и фото с видео получились повеселее.
