Happy New Year!
Here’s my last photo album of 2023, all shot on the 31st of December. The weather was pretty decent and there was still plenty of time before the New Year’s countdown, so I headed out for a stroll through the local botanic garden – with the camera in tow, of course. Plus three lenses, a tripod, a black ND filter, remote shutter, and a bunch of other bits and pieces. You know, just the usual kit every completely normal, slightly mad photographer takes on a “casual walk.”
This botanic garden’s no small thing, either. It’s officially a branch of the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne and focuses on Aussie native plants – over 100,000 of them across about 1,900 species. But I wasn’t there for the plants this time. Been there plenty of times already, especially with the macro lens. This time I was more into shooting the ponds using long exposure and a fisheye lens.
