The Shrine of Remembrance is a war memorial in Melbourne.
Unlike the ones you see in Russia, it’s not about glorifying the military — it’s about remembering the soldiers who died. It was built in 1934 as a tribute to those who fell in World War I. These days, it honours Australians who died in all wars. There’s a museum and an archive inside as well.
The night photos I took there were a bit different to my usual style. Normally, I set up a tripod and shoot with a long exposure of a few seconds. But all these shots were done handheld with short exposure times. A few of them were even taken on my phone.
